Modesty: Appearances & Accessories ~ Fr Ripperger

like the french say, viva LA difference! it is good for a man to look like a man and a woman to look like a woman

+Sensus Fidelium Ave Maria! Do you know where I can find more sources that states when tattoos are sinful? I've heard a lot of pro arguments e.g. its not a sin to get one unless they're immoral or if its done in excess. Fr. Chad didn't go in depth when he was speaking about tattoos. Great videos by the way! Pax et Bonum!

I think it goes with the intention.  Basically not to mutilate oneself.  I know many that got them prior to knowing or converting so it's not mortally sinful if you do not know.  If one knows and goes to the shop & tats his whole body up then we have a problem.

You will not gash your bodies when someone dies, and you will not tattoo yourselves. I am Yahweh.( Leviticus 19:28)

Confused about the tattoos. I am aware it is Coptic Catholics (and Orthodox) tradition of tattooing crosses on their wrists, very small though. Does that count as mutilation or excellence?

I'm assuming it's ok for a man to wear a chain necklace with a st. christopher medallion or cross on it correct? For instance I wear a chain necklace (1) with a couple st. medallions…and obviously for protection as opposed to beautification

It's not a sin for women to wear pants? Then what am I doing wearing skirts every single day in a world of masculine women? It is most likely a sin, not only because of purity but cross-dressing. There may be exceptional cases, but most times it will be a sin. Could you please clarify?

I'm surprised that Fr. Ripperger is not against the theatre. The theatre has always been intimately connected with the occult. And from the looks of it, and what is in the music industry and Hollywood all of them or nearly all of them are involved with the occult. And makeup has always been intimately connected with prostitution up until the last century when it became normalized. All of this I am sure has had a huge influence on the morals of society.

@ 6:34 "people should just be happy with what God gave you." Kind of hard to do when God intentionally makes many people ugly and unattractive and making the rest of us have to deal with the pity, awkwardness and potential deceit (not admitting you find them repulsive) likely involved.

Thank you soooo much for posting this!! I have literally been so worried for months about this issue. I am a professional makeup artist and I try to attend daily mass. It's been eating at me because of uncertainty and so much confusion even among other Catholics on this topic! I also wondered about the use of makeup on men as I do blot and powder their shine for cameras on film sets! Praise God I am in the clear!! 🙏🏼💕🌹
