The Bible is a Catholic book because the Catholic Church decided which books to include in the Bible in the Synod’s of Hippo (393 AD) and confirmed it at the Council of Carthage (397 A.D). The Canon recognized by the Catholic Church for the past fifteen centuries (73 books) was specified in the Council of Laodicea in 367 A.D. “What do you mean by the Canon of Scripture?”
The Canon of Scripture simply means the authentic collection of those writings declared to have been inspired by God. They are called canonical, whereas those writings that were rejected as uncanonical were called apocryphal, which means not of Divine origin, not inspired.
Catholic and Protestant Bibles both include 27 books in the New Testament.
Protestant Bibles have only 39 books in the Old Testament, however, while Catholic Bibles have 46.
The seven books included in Catholic Bibles are Tobit, Judith, 1 and 2 Maccabees, Wisdom, Sirach, and Baruch. Catholic Bibles also include sections in the Books of Esther and Daniel which are not found in Protestant Bibles. These books are called the deuterocanonical books. The Catholic Church considers these books to be inspired by the Holy Spirit.
Martin Luther, on his own and without any authority, ripped seven books out of the Old Testament and claimed they were not Sacred Scripture (hence being put in an appendix). Martin Luther also wanted to rip out of the Bible several New Testament books too — such as James, Hebrews, and Revelations.
One of the reasons that Luther ripped out books of the Old Testament is because some of those books helped to explain some Catholic doctrines. The reason why he wanted to rip out of the Bible the Book of St. James is because it contradicted his personal and heretical view about justification. said justification was byfaith alone. NOWHERE does the Bible say that, so Luther added the word to Romans 3:28 in his German Translation.

the Catholic Church got its name from the Nicene Creed after the council of nicea. Prior to the name Catholic, they were called christians. But they were unified as one body founded on the Apostles. They were first called Christians at Antioch, which St. Peter was also the first Bishop of. St. Peter was the head of the Apostles, and given the grace of maintaining the church as the primus inter pares. Christ said to Peter take care of my flock, on top of telling him that upon him he will build his church. The Catholic Church as you know it only received its name upon the schism of the eastern church which became Orthodoxy. So technically speaking, the “Katholikos” (Catholic) church was the first church in the world given by Christ.
as well, just to point out, you seem to use the bible as a basis for your beliefs alone, the same Bible compiles by the Early Church (to which one can only trade the lineage of the Catholic and Orthodox churches to). Even they didn’t base the faith on bible alone, hence why ecumenical councils were established to route out heresies like Arianism and establish the doctrine of the trinity, which as you know, one can’t truly be Christian and not believe in the trinity. So if the bible was compiled through the early church, who also set the standards for what it meant to be Christian, and compiled the bible that you put so much faith (alone) in, how can the Catholic Church not be the true church founded by the apostles and their successors?
and that’s fair, but scientifically speaking one can only base truth of what we know absolutely based on evidence. And the evidence we do have regarding Christianity is that it was the early church fathers in succession of the apostles that established the Christian faith after the resurrection of the Lord.

Braćo: Čeznite za višim darima! A evo vam puta najizvrsnijega! Prorokovanja? Uminut će. Jezici? Umuknut će. Spoznanje? Uminut će. Jer djelomično je naše spoznanje, i djelomično prorokovanje. A kada dođe ono savršeno, uminut će ovo djelomično. Kad bijah nejače, govorah kao nejače, mišljah kao nejače, rasuđivah kao nejače. A kad postadoh zreo čovjek, odbacih ono nejačko. Doista, sada gledamo kroza zrcalo, u zagonetki, a tada – licem u lice! Sada spoznajem djelomično, a tada ću spoznati savršeno, kao što sam i spoznat! A sada: ostaju vjera, ufanje i ljubav – to troje – ali najveća je među njima ljubav. Riječ Gospodnja.

These habitual imperfections are, for example a common custom of much speaking, or some slight
attachment which we never quite wish to conquer—such as that to a person, a garment, a book, a
particular kind of food, fancies for tasting, knowing or hearing certain things, and suchlike.
A single one of these imperfections, if the soul has become attached and habituated to it, is of a great
harm to growth and progress in virtue as though one were to fall daily into a great number of other
imperfections and casual venial sins which do not proceed from a habitual indulgence in some harmful attachment; these latter imperfections will not hinder the soul so much as will its attachment to
something. For as long as it has this, there is no possibility that it will make progress in perfection, even
though the imperfection be extremely slight. For it comes to the same thing whether a bird be held by a
slender cord or by a stout one since, even if it be slender, the bird will be as well held as though it were
stout, for so long as it breaks it not and flies not away. It is true that the slen der one is the easier to break; still, easy though it be, the bird will not fly away if it be not broken. And thus the soul that has
attachment to anything, however much virtue it possesses, will not attain to the liberty of divine union.
