St. Padre Pio instructed his spiritual children, "Recite the Rosary and recite it always and as much as you can...In all the free time you have, once you have finished your duties of state, you should kneel down and pray the Rosary. Pray the Rosary before the Blessed Sacrament or before a crucifix".
In our article this week, "
Remembering the Rosary - Rich in Graces", we discuss the concern that some people have stopped praying the Rosary in favour of the shorter prayer, The Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
We hope to remind people of the importance and holiness of the Rosary. It is only when you have experienced the power of the Rosary, will you be able to understand why saints like Padre Pio, Pope John Paul II and St. Francis de Sales so strongly recommended praying the Rosary every day.
Our attitude to the Rosary can determine its priority in our day.
But if we consider that it is one of the holiest prayers of the Catholic Church, recommended by Our Lady in Lourdes and Fatima, has fifteen promises attached to it, is highly recommended by every saint, especially Padre Pio, and is an immense source of graces for our life, then we should be wise enough to understand that this is a special and sacred prayer and that it must become an priority in our life.
We hope this article will help you in your devotion to the holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin and Mother of our Saviour.
May Divine Mercy be your joy in life, your hope in death and your glory in eternity.
Thank you & God Bless
Val Conlon
